Watch Father Peter discuss how to vote your conscience in the upcoming election.

Our mid-term elections are upon us. Voting has begun in many States, and it will continue through November 8, 2022. Many of us have been besieged by political advertisements and endorsements telling us who to vote for.

Our society is fractured and in need of healing. Political views have become polarized, and voting has been set up as a zero-sum game. Some must win and others must lose.

As people of faith, we need to vote our conscience, not how the ideological interests of others tell us we should vote. To do so, we must consider the common good of all people, as we work for the reconciliation of society.

Let us discern God’s will concerning the candidates before us and let us speak truth to power as we choose those who will be respectful of all people, especially those who are so often left behind.
