Throughout Immigrant Heritage Month, A Faith That Does Justice is sharing stories from members of our community who immigrated to the United States. By creating space for people to tell their own stories in their own words, we hope to foster understanding, challenge misconceptions, and celebrate the experiences, contributions, and resilience of immigrants. Each story reflects one person’s journey. Together, they invite us to see our neighbors more clearly, listen more deeply, and recognize the dignity and humanity that faith calls us to honor in every person.

Soy Salvadoreña, vivo en Boston desde 2020. He tenido la oportunidad de tener un trabajo hasta la fecha, de donde he podido ayudar a mi familia. Me gusta ayudar y ser parte de una comunidad, compartir lo que es el amor al prójimo, al necesitado, pertenecer y congregarme en la Iglesia, apoyar y ser parte de grupos de ayuda a inmigrantes que un día salieron de su país, igual que yo. Tener mucha fe que un día se hará justicia por todos los abusos cometidos. Creer firmemente en Dios.

I am Salvadoran, I have lived in Boston since 2020. I have had the opportunity to have a job up to this day, through which I have been able to help my family. I like to help and be part of a community, to share what it means to love one’s neighbor and those in need, to belong and gather at church, to support and be part of groups that help immigrants who one day left their country just as I did. To have great faith that one day justice will be done for all the abuses committed. To believe firmly in God.
