What inspired you to volunteer?

A Faith That Does Justice attracted me by its goals that align with my own. I wanted to serve God by helping our neighbors in need, including immigrants whose lives in our country are being marginalized. I admire the commitment of volunteers living out this mission through their AFTDJ service.

What does living your faith in action mean to you?

As a Christian, living my faith in action means seeing Christ in those whom I serve. It also means joining with those of other faith traditions to speak out against injustices toward others within our society, working to replace inequality and prejudice with respect for all of God’s children.

Tell us about yourself.

I retired after 25 years in IT at Boston Children's Hospital’s Heart Center. My career ranged from teaching math to being an at-home mom to 3 daughters to coordinating a computer education program. For 30 years I have volunteered, including leadership roles, for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
